Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi sworn in as acting chief justice

Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi has taken oath as the acting chief justice of the Federal Constitutional Court during the absence of Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan, who is visiting Azerbaijan to attend an international judicial conference.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Federal Constitutional Court. Justice Aamer Farooq administered the oath to Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, who will perform the duties of acting chief justice during the incumbent chief justice’s absence.

Judges, judicial officers, court staff and law officers attended the ceremony.

Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan is visiting Azerbaijan from October 19 to 22 to participate in a conference of constitutional courts and institutions exercising constitutional jurisdiction from across the Turkic world.

The conference brings together judicial institutions to discuss constitutional matters and the role of constitutional jurisdiction in their respective legal systems.

During Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan’s absence, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi will oversee the responsibilities of the Federal Constitutional Court’s chief justice.

His appointment as acting chief justice will ensure the continuity of the court’s judicial and administrative functions while the incumbent chief justice attends the conference abroad.
