On Tuesday, September 15, Baldoni took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his reunion with Rodriguez, who is making her directorial debut with the boxing film House of Guerrero.

“Hey Director @hereisgina. Day 1. God is good,” Baldoni captioned the post.

Deadline has confirmed that Baldoni has joined the project as a producer through his company, Wayfarer Studios. Rodriguez is directing the film and will also serve as a producer.

Based on an original story by Rodriguez and screenwriter Bernardo Cubría, House of Guerrero follows “a young fighter whose promising boxing career is cut short before he gets one last shot at stepping back into the ring and fighting for the life he thought he’d lost forever.”

The project has been described in its press release as “a boxing film for a new generation” that “brings a fresh perspective to the genre while centring a community that has long shaped the sport.”

House of Guerrero marks the first professional reunion between Rodriguez and Baldoni since their time on Jane the Virgin. Baldoni played Rafael Solano in the series, while Rodriguez starred as Jane Gloriana Villanueva.

Rodriguez has also publicly supported Baldoni during his legal dispute with Lively. She previously stood by her former Jane the Virgin co-star after he and his wife, Emily Baldoni, shared an emotional video discussing the impact of his legal battle.

Baldoni and Lively became embroiled in a high-profile legal dispute after Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and a subsequent campaign of retaliation. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a separate lawsuit against Lively and others.

Earlier this year, a federal judge ordered Lively to pay Baldoni’s legal fees and court costs after dismissing Baldoni’s claims against her, while Lively was also awarded $407,000 in legal fees and costs in connection with part of the litigation.

The legal dispute has continued to attract significant attention in Hollywood, with both sides facing professional and reputational consequences.

Baldoni’s reunion with Rodriguez now marks a notable return to a professional project outside the legal drama that has dominated headlines surrounding him.
