Search and rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate the crew members of the K2 Airways cargo plane that crashed into the Arabian Sea.
The Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) said the operation is being carried out by the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency with the help of aerial and sea-based resources.
Officials said the search for the missing crew members is continuing with full efforts. Teams are working in the deep sea area to find any possible survivors and recover more information about the crash.
The aviation authority confirmed that additional parts and debris from the damaged aircraft have been recovered. The recovered pieces will be handed over to the investigation team for detailed examination.
Authorities said the findings from the wreckage could help investigators understand the reasons behind the tragic incident.
The K2 Airways Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft was carrying five crew members when it disappeared while travelling from Sharjah to Karachi.
The aircraft had reported a navigation system issue during its flight. After receiving the alert, Karachi Area Control Centre provided guidance to the pilot.
However, shortly afterwards, the aircraft showed a rapid descent and sudden change in direction on radar. Communication and radar contact were then lost around 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.
Following an extensive search operation, Pakistan Navy and maritime rescue teams located the aircraft’s wreckage in the Arabian Sea near Ormara.
The search operation remains active, and authorities have said further updates will be shared as rescue and investigation efforts continue.
