Katy Perry has opened up about feeling nervous while performing in front of her boyfriend, former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, for the first time, as she reflected on her 91-show “Lifetimes” tour.

Perry made the comments Wednesday during a question-and-answer session with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly at a screening of her upcoming concert film, “The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.”

Recalling a show in Montreal attended by Trudeau, Perry said she generally does not get nervous when high-profile figures are in the audience, but admitted she struggled to look at him during the performance.

“I don’t typically get nervous,” Perry said, adding that she sometimes gets “butterflies” before the first show of a tour because of the pressure created by social media.

“In Montreal, I was, like, I can’t look at him,” she said.

Perry performed in Montreal last summer, while romance rumors surrounding her and Trudeau emerged in July 2026 after the pair were spotted together on a date night.

Reflecting on her personal life and the scrutiny she has faced, Perry said her journey had not always been easy.

“It wasn’t always peachy keen jelly bean. There were days that were hard,” she said, before adding that things became “cute” after July 28, 2005.

Perry also addressed criticism she faced during the tour and over her relationship with Trudeau, saying she had chosen to embrace her life without worrying about how others perceived her.

“Like, this is how I fucking dance. OK, what’s up? I’m having fun. I am living my whole life,” she said.

The “Firework” singer said she wanted to make the most of her life and avoid future regrets.

“I’m going to leave no stone unturned. I’m going to live my life to the fullest. I am not scared,” she said.

Perry’s comments came as she promoted “The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris,” which captures performances from her global tour across five continents.

Perry also surprised fans at the special screening of her upcoming concert film by appearing toward the end of the event, prompting an enthusiastic reaction from the crowd.

She joined fans in dancing to her hit song “Firework” during the surprise appearance.

“The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris” is scheduled to be released on September 2, 2026.
