Kriti Sanon wins praise for voicing Nikki in Obsession

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is receiving an enthusiastic response from fans after lending her voice to Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette, in the Hindi-dubbed version of the psychological horror film Obsession. The actress recently shared her excitement about the project, describing the experience as memorable and praising the original performance that inspired her voice work.

On Friday, October 30, Sanon took to Instagram to celebrate the film’s release and express her gratitude for being part of the Hollywood production. The project also gave her an opportunity to reunite with her Bhediya co-star Varun Dhawan and director Amar Kaushik, bringing back fond memories of their time working together.

Although the reunion lasted only a day, the actress appeared delighted to reconnect with her former collaborators. Sharing her excitement with her followers, Sanon affectionately referred to them as her fellow members of the Wolfpack, a reference to their supernatural comedy film Bhediya.

She also expressed her affection for Dhawan and Kaushik, making it clear that even a brief reunion was enough to bring back special memories from their previous collaboration.

Kriti Sanon Praises Inde Navarrette’s Performance

Beyond reconnecting with familiar faces, Sanon was particularly impressed by the opportunity to voice a character from a film that had left a strong impression on her.

The actress praised the experience of dubbing Nikki, originally portrayed by American actress Inde Navarrette. According to Sanon, Navarrette delivered an extraordinary performance that continued to amaze her even while she was working in the dubbing room.

Sanon described the actress’s portrayal as phenomenal, explaining that watching and performing the scenes left her with goosebumps. Her appreciation highlighted the effort involved in recreating the emotional intensity of an original performance while making it accessible to a Hindi-speaking audience.

The project also allowed Sanon to explore a different aspect of her acting career. While audiences primarily recognise her for her performances in Hindi films, voice acting provided her with an opportunity to contribute to an international production in a new way.

Actress Expresses Gratitude for Being Part of Obsession

Sanon did not limit her appreciation to Navarrette. She also praised the film’s lead actor, Michael Johnston, and its 27-year-old director, Curry Barker.

Calling Obsession an impressive film featuring extraordinary performances, the actress expressed happiness about being associated with the project, even if her contribution was relatively small.

Her comments reflected her admiration for the cast and creative team behind the psychological horror film. By lending her voice to Nikki, Sanon became part of a project that has attracted attention from viewers interested in international horror movies.

The actress also encouraged her followers to watch the film, highlighting its availability on JioHotstar through The Peacock Hub.

Fans Demand a Bollywood Remake

Sanon’s announcement quickly attracted attention from fans, with several viewers praising her voice performance and expressing interest in seeing her take on the character in a full-length film.

Some fans suggested that the movie deserved a Hindi remake rather than a dubbed version. Others specifically requested that Sanon and Dhawan collaborate on a Bollywood adaptation.

One fan suggested that the film should have been remade, while another expressed a desire to see Sanon portray Nikki in a more extensive role.

A third viewer praised Sanon and Dhawan’s promotional appearance, suggesting that their chemistry and performances made them suitable choices for a potential Hindi adaptation. Another fan admitted that the Hindi version initially seemed like a remake because Sanon’s voice work blended so well with the original character.

Although these reactions have sparked conversations about a possible Bollywood remake, no such project has been announced.

Where to Watch Kriti Sanon’s Latest Project

Following its streaming release on October 30, Obsession became available on JioHotstar through The Peacock Hub.

Viewers can choose between the original English-language version and the Hindi-dubbed edition, which features Sanon voicing Nikki and Dhawan voicing Bear.

For Sanon, the project represents an opportunity to reach audiences through a different form of performance. The positive response from fans also demonstrates their interest in seeing the actress explore more voice-acting opportunities and potentially collaborate with Dhawan again in a future film.
