Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan join Hollywood thriller Obsession

Bollywood stars Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan have teamed up for a new project, lending their voices to the Hindi-dubbed version of the Hollywood supernatural thriller Obsession. The actors will voice the film’s lead characters, Nikki and Bear, introducing the thriller to Hindi-speaking audiences through their performances.

The announcement was made by JioHotstar through a promotional video shared on Tuesday. The clip featured Kriti and Varun recreating a scene from the film alongside director Amar Kaushik, offering fans a glimpse of their involvement in the Hindi version.

According to the announcement, Varun has voiced Bear, a character originally portrayed by Michael Johnston. Meanwhile, Kriti has taken on the role of Nikki, played by Inde Navarrette in the original English-language film.

The streaming platform also shared the news on social media, building anticipation for the upcoming release. In its post, JioHotstar wrote, “We wished we could tell you sooner, but where’s the fun in that?”

The announcement has brought the two Bollywood stars together for another collaboration, giving audiences an opportunity to experience the Hollywood thriller with familiar voices.

Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan reunite for Obsession

Kriti and Varun have previously appeared together in films such as Dilwale and Bhediya. Their latest collaboration marks another opportunity for the actors to work together, although this time their contribution comes through voice acting rather than on-screen performances.

Their association with Bhediya also connects them with director Amar Kaushik, who appeared alongside the actors in the promotional video announcing the Hindi version of Obsession.

Kriti has also made a cameo appearance in Varun’s film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai earlier in 2026, adding another connection between the two performers.

With their involvement in the Hindi adaptation, the actors are expected to bring their individual styles to the characters of Nikki and Bear. The dubbed version will allow viewers who prefer Hindi-language content to experience the thriller without relying on subtitles.

Obsession OTT release date revealed

Alongside the Hindi-dubbing announcement, JioHotstar revealed the streaming details for the original, uncut version of Obsession.

The platform announced that the film was scheduled to arrive on October 30 at 7 pm through The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar. The release will give viewers an opportunity to watch the original version of the supernatural thriller.

The announcement has also drawn attention to the film’s commercial performance, with the thriller reportedly earning significant revenue despite its comparatively modest production budget.

According to reported figures, Obsession generated approximately $520 million worldwide against an estimated production budget of between $750,000 and $1 million.

The film also recorded a notable performance in India. Its reported net collection reached Rs 84.90 crore, while its gross earnings stood at approximately Rs 100.96 crore.

These figures have added to the attention surrounding the thriller as it prepares to reach a wider streaming audience.

Hindi version brings the thriller to a wider audience

The Hindi-dubbed release offers viewers another way to experience Obsession, with Kriti and Varun lending their voices to its central characters.

Their participation also adds a Bollywood connection to the Hollywood production, potentially attracting fans of both actors who may be interested in watching the thriller.

With the original uncut version scheduled to stream on October 30, audiences can look forward to exploring the film through its original presentation, while the Hindi adaptation brings the story closer to viewers who prefer dubbed content.

The collaboration marks another addition to Kriti and Varun’s professional association, bringing the popular Bollywood duo together for a project that connects Indian entertainment with Hollywood storytelling.
