LAHORE: The first Saudi-Pak Real Estate Expo has been inaugurated at a venue in Lake City, Lahore, bringing together business representatives and officials to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The opening ceremony was organised under the auspices of the Saudi-Pak Business Council. The three-day exhibition will showcase a range of real estate and development projects, providing a platform for investors to explore potential business opportunities in Pakistan.
His Highness Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, chairman of the Saudi-Pak Business Council, expressed optimism about the investment opportunities available in Pakistan across multiple sectors. He highlighted the importance of the government’s renewed vision for attracting investment, improving the business environment and facilitating investors interested in entering the Pakistani market.
Prince Mansour said creating favourable conditions for businesses and improving ease of doing business were essential to encouraging stronger economic engagement between the two countries.
Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Rajeh bin Tami Al-Baqami also highlighted the longstanding relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He expressed hope that the historic ties between the two countries would continue to develop into stronger strategic cooperation across economic, geopolitical and government-to-government sectors.
He emphasised the importance of building on the existing relationship by expanding collaboration and creating further opportunities for mutually beneficial engagement.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz, a founding member of the Saudi-Pak Business Council, stressed the need to strengthen commercial relations and expand cooperation in business, trade, agriculture and development. He noted that significant opportunities remained available for both countries to explore through closer engagement and joint initiatives.
The event also featured a presentation by RUDA Chief Executive Officer Imran Amin, who outlined the development roadmap for the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and the Central Business District (CBD) in Lahore.
Imran Amin highlighted ongoing projects and identified potential investment opportunities for Saudi investors in various development initiatives. He also explained the facilitation mechanisms offered by RUDA and CBD to help investors navigate business processes through a one-stop-shop system.
According to the presentation, the mechanism is designed to simplify procedures, improve coordination and provide investors with a more accessible route to exploring and undertaking projects.
RUDA’s development initiatives aim to promote planned urban expansion and sustainable growth, while CBD projects are transforming parts of Lahore through modern infrastructure, commercial development and urban regeneration.
The projects offer potential avenues for foreign investment in real estate, construction and related sectors, while contributing to the city’s evolving urban landscape.
The inauguration of the expo marks the beginning of a three-day programme during which participating organisations will present their projects and engage with prospective investors. The event is intended to encourage business-to-business connections and strengthen commercial links between Pakistani and Saudi stakeholders.
Organisers expressed optimism that the exhibition would help generate greater interest in Pakistan’s real estate and development sectors and contribute to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).
The expo comes amid efforts to improve Pakistan’s investment climate and broaden economic partnerships with international investors. However, the scale of investment that may emerge from the event will depend on subsequent discussions, project assessments and the finalisation of business agreements.
The exhibition is expected to provide a platform for continued engagement between investors and developers, with both countries seeking to expand economic cooperation and identify new opportunities for long-term growth.
