Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could face renewed scrutiny over their royal titles if Prince William becomes king, according to commentator Mark Dolan.
The comments came after King Charles III issued a letter describing Harry and Meghan as “akin to private citizens” following their return to Britain. The letter said the couple were no longer working members of the royal family and that their charitable activities were undertaken in a private capacity.

Dolan separately suggested that William could remove the titles himself if Charles did not do so, and said such a move could further deepen the dispute between the brothers.
“Harry and Meghan will weaponize any efforts to strip them of the title because their whole grift is that they are victims,” Dolan said.
“As long as they are Duke and Duchess of Sussex, then they can pretend to be royal, and that’s a problem for the family, and it’s a problem for the monarchy,” he added.
Dolan said he did not expect Charles to remove the titles but predicted that William would do so once he became king.
“I don’t think Charles will strip the titles. I think William will, and it’s going to be ugly,” he said.
There is no confirmed palace plan to remove Harry and Meghan’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
