Maryam Nawaz hails Pakistan Navy’s professionalism and historic Naval Day achievements

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy, praising their professionalism, courage and continued efforts to safeguard the country’s maritime interests.

In her message issued on the occasion of Naval Day, Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Navy had consistently demonstrated exceptional professional capabilities and successfully established its superiority over the enemy whenever the country faced a challenge.

She expressed her appreciation for the naval officers and personnel who continue to perform their duties in difficult maritime conditions, saying the nation remains proud of their dedication and sacrifices.

The chief minister recalled the significance of September 8 in Pakistan’s naval history, saying the Pakistan Navy had demonstrated its strength and strategic capabilities against the enemy. She particularly highlighted the historic role of the submarine *PNS Ghazi*, which, according to her, earned a distinguished place in the country’s naval history through its operations in the Indian Ocean.

Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Navy’s contributions extend beyond national defence. She noted that the force also plays an important role in protecting Pakistan’s maritime routes and supporting the country’s sea-based trade and economic activities.

She said the security of maritime routes remains vital for Pakistan’s economy and that the Pakistan Navy continues to perform an important role in ensuring the safe movement of commercial vessels and protecting the country’s maritime interests.

The Punjab chief minister also acknowledged the sacrifices and commitment of naval personnel, stressing that their vigilance and professionalism strengthen Pakistan’s defence and contribute to the country’s security.

She concluded by paying rich tribute to the officers and sailors of the Pakistan Navy and expressing confidence that the force would continue to uphold the country’s maritime security and national interests with the same courage and dedication.
