Massive Iraqi wedding goes viral after hundreds of animals slaughtered

Videos of lavish wedding celebrations held in the desert area of Nasiriyah in southern Iraq have gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention because of the enormous scale of the event and the hospitality provided to guests.

The wedding celebrations were organised for the sons of Sheikh Haider Abir, the head of the Al-Badur tribe. A large number of guests travelled from different parts of Iraq to attend the celebrations, turning the event into a major gathering.

According to reports, around 1,400 sheep and goats were slaughtered to prepare food for the guests. More than 270 camels were also slaughtered as part of the extensive arrangements made for the wedding feast.

Videos from the celebrations show large crowds of guests and the extensive preparations made to accommodate them. The scale of the feast and the traditional hospitality attracted considerable attention after the footage was shared widely across social media platforms.
