According to the report, a four-member medical team examined the former prime minister during his detention. The board included Dr Farqad Alamgir who was reportedly called from London for the examination along with Dr Arif Khan, Dr Akhtar Ali Bandesha and Dr Ali Arif.
The report states that the medical board assessed Imran Khan’s anxiety level at “Level 3+”. To help manage his blood pressure and anxiety the doctors recommended that he take a one-hour walk every day.
The board also recommended that the PTI founder be provided with access to newspapers television and books while in jail. Such measures were included among the recommendations intended to support his overall well-being during detention.
The medical team further suggested increasing Imran Khan’s meetings with his wife. The recommendation comes amid continued discussions regarding his access to family members and other forms of contact while in custody.
Dr Farqad Alamgir’s name has also reportedly appeared in recent negotiations concerning the former prime minister’s medical treatment.
