The child, identified as Wisal, slipped into the drain near Kacha Stop on I.J.P. Road two days ago. Since then, emergency responders have continued a round-the-clock operation to locate him.
According to rescue officials, teams have searched both the main drainage channel and underground sections of the sewer system between the accident site and Kacha Stop. Rescuers are also focusing on areas where the child could have become trapped.
To strengthen the operation, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has provided two excavators to help clear potential obstruction points and improve access to difficult sections of the drain.
