The Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges met at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi. The committee took up the issue of the missing CDA file of House No. 622, Sector I-10/4, Islamabad.
Members showed concern that an important property file was missing from CDA records. They said such matters create problems for citizens and raise serious questions about official record-keeping.
The committee also expressed anger over the absence of the CDA Chairman and senior legal officials. It said important matters should not be taken lightly by the authority.
During the briefing, CDA officials informed the committee that implementing the court judgment falls within the jurisdiction of the CDA Board.
They said the matter would be placed before the next CDA Board meeting for a decision.
The committee directed CDA to decide the matter and submit a detailed compliance report within two weeks.
The chairman said court orders must not remain pending without reason. He said official delay can create more problems for citizens already waiting for justice.
The committee also made it clear that property owners should not be punished because of missing records, poor handling of files or negligence by officials.
The issue highlighted broader concerns about the CDA’s working style, especially in matters involving public records, legal cases and implementation of court decisions.
The committee said government departments must protect public records because citizens depend on these records for their legal and property rights.
The chairman also urged the CDA Chairman to personally attend future committee meetings. He said the presence of senior officials is important when serious issues are being discussed.
