Moreira fires AC Milan to stunning derby victory over Inter

AC Milan secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Inter Milan in a thrilling derby clash on Saturday, handing their city rivals their first defeat of the season.

Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot put Milan in control with two early goals, both created by Diego Moreira. Inter responded through Alessandro Bastoni, who reduced the deficit midway through the first half.

However, Moreira stole the spotlight with a stunning free-kick just before half-time, restoring Milan’s two-goal advantage. The Belgian midfielder delivered an outstanding performance, contributing to all three goals.

Inter attempted to fight back after the break but struggled to find a way past Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who produced several crucial saves. A VAR review also overturned a penalty decision in Inter’s favour, adding to their frustration.

The victory extended Milan’s unbeaten run in the famous derby to eight matches and lifted them to fourth place in the standings.

Meanwhile, Roma strengthened their title challenge with a commanding 5-2 victory away at Udinese. Bryan Cristante, Rodrigo Mora, Donyell Malen and Evan Ndicka scored before half-time, while Daniele Ghilardi added a fifth goal in stoppage time.

Roma moved within one point of joint-leaders Inter and Lazio with 24 points, increasing the pressure at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Bologna continued their impressive form with a third consecutive victory, defeating Monza 2-1 to climb into eighth place.
