According to police, the child’s body was recovered from the Korang drain following the incident. Initial investigations suggest that the child was allegedly thrown into the drain amid a dispute within the household.

Police officials said the incident was taken seriously by Murree District Police Officer (DPO) Raza Tanveer Supra, who ordered the immediate arrest of those allegedly involved and directed officers to initiate legal proceedings.

Following the orders, police took a woman into custody on suspicion of throwing the child into the drain. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the suspect or the exact circumstances surrounding the alleged act.

The child’s body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination as investigators continued gathering evidence and attempting to establish the full sequence of events.

Police said a case was also being registered at Murree Police Station in connection with the incident. Further investigation will determine the circumstances of the child’s death and the responsibility of those allegedly involved.

DPO Raza Tanveer Supra said violence against children would not be tolerated and vowed that the woman allegedly responsible would face legal consequences.

“Children must be protected from violence under all circumstances,” police authorities said stressing that those responsible for harming minors would be dealt with according to the law.

The emergence of a video allegedly showing the incident has added to public concern although investigators are expected to verify the footage and examine all available evidence before reaching conclusions.

Authorities are also likely to investigate the nature of the domestic dispute that allegedly preceded the incident including the relationship between the individuals involved and the circumstances in which the child was taken to the drain.
