Islamabad: The government announced financial assistance of Rs50 million each for two families who lost their children in a tragic incident, while Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal assured the grieving parents that those found responsible would face strict action under the law.
Mustafa Kamal, accompanied by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and met the affected family.
The federal ministers later travelled to Rawalpindi and visited another affected family at their home. They conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s condolences and expressed solidarity with the grieving families.
During the meetings, Mustafa Kamal said the incident was extremely painful and difficult to describe. He said the ministers had come to share the affected mothers’ pain and stand with them during their difficult time.
“The loss of a child is a tragedy that cannot be described in words,” the minister said. He stressed that there could be no replacement for precious human lives and that the children who lost their lives could not be brought back.
Mustafa Kamal said the government and the entire nation stood with the affected families in their hour of grief. As part of the government’s support, the health minister presented cheques of Rs50 million to each of the two affected families for the care and support of their children.
He clarified that the financial assistance could never compensate for the loss suffered by the families. Rather, he said, it was a small expression of the government’s decision to stand beside them and share their responsibility during the difficult period.
The minister also assured the families that the government would not leave them alone and would provide all possible support. At the same time, he said a complete and impartial investigation into the incident was under way.
He made it clear that anyone found responsible would face strict action according to the law. Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also expressed his condolences to the families and said the government stood with them during this difficult time.
The ministers prayed for the departed children and asked Allah Almighty to grant them a high place in Jannat ul Firdous and give patience and strength to their parents and other family members.
The government officials said the visits were aimed at conveying the government’s condolences and assuring the affected families that their concerns would be addressed.
The investigation is expected to determine responsibility for the incident, while the government has assured the families that legal action will be taken against those found responsible.
