Sindh health officials to apply for leave online

The Sindh Health and Population Welfare Department has made online submission of leave applications mandatory for senior officials from September 1.

Under the new directive, officers and officials from BPS-16 to BPS-20 will have to apply for all types of leave through the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) portal.

The department has decided to end the paper-based leave application process for these employees. Applications submitted through paper or other conventional methods after August 31 will no longer be accepted.

Officials who fail to follow the new procedure could also face disciplinary action, according to the directive.

The department further warned that employees who remain absent from duty without submitting and obtaining approval for leave through the HRMIS portal will be considered unauthorised absentees.

The directive has been circulated to senior officials across the provincial health system. These include the Sindh PPHI chief executive officer, district health officers, medical superintendents, executive directors of tertiary care hospitals and medical superintendents of secondary care hospitals.

Section officers have also been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the new digital system. They will be responsible for processing leave applications through the HRMIS portal only.

The department said the move was aimed at streamlining the leave process and shifting official administrative procedures to a digital platform.

Officials and employees who face technical problems while submitting their applications online have been advised to seek assistance from Chief Technical Officer Dr Allah Bakhsh Mushtaq.

The new system will come into effect from September 1, making digital leave applications compulsory for the specified employees across the Sindh Health and Population Welfare Department.
