Muzaffargarh Government school staff in Muzaffargarh have been given a new task alongside teaching growing seasonal vegetables on school grounds.
The District Education Officer (Secondary) has directed school heads to make sure seasonal vegetables are grown in available school plots. The areas must also be kept clean and properly maintained.
Each school has been asked to appoint a person responsible for planting watering and caring for the vegetables. Schools where the crops did not grow well have been told to plant them again.
The instructions also require timely watering and proper care of vegetable beds. School heads will have to share daily updates and pictures of the vegetable gardens in the relevant WhatsApp group.
Officials have warned school heads to follow the instructions strictly. The vegetable growing activity is part of the district administration’s “Sanji Sabzi” project under which vegetables are being grown on empty plots at government institutions. The produce will later be distributed free of cost among local residents.
