Speaking about the latest round of talks Nasir Abbas said the participants had previously agreed that details discussed during the meetings would remain confidential. He criticized Rehman for publicly discussing matters related to the negotiations and said she did not disclose what response she had received during the meeting.

Nasir Abbas also commented on a statement attributed to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. He questioned the circumstances in which the statement was prepared and argued that those involved should refrain from making public comments about the negotiations for at least 40 days.

Meanwhile, Sherry Rehman said the PPP was trying to find a democratic solution to the issue. She clarified that members of her party could speak publicly about their party’s position but matters directly related to the negotiations should not be discussed outside the talks.

The latest meeting marked the second round of negotiations between the government and opposition and reportedly began amid complaints and disagreements among the participants.

The government side includes Mohsin Naqvi, Amir Muqam, Talal Chaudhry, Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman and Ejaz Jakhrani.

The opposition delegation includes Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Amir Dogar and Haleem Adil Sheikh.

The talks are taking place as both sides continue discussions aimed at addressing their political differences through negotiations.
