Country singer Nicole Taylor, a member of the musical trio Taylor Red, has died at the age of 35 following a battle with aggressive breast cancer. Her death has left her family, fans and fellow music lovers mourning the loss of the talented performer.
Nicole’s triplet sisters and fellow band members, Nika and Natalie Taylor, confirmed the heartbreaking news through an emotional YouTube video. They revealed that Nicole passed away on September 28, describing her final days as peaceful and saying she was no longer suffering.
During the video, the sisters opened up about Nicole’s cancer diagnosis, treatment and the challenges she faced throughout her illness. Natalie explained that Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. The sisters received the devastating news while they were together in a public place, making the moment particularly difficult for the family.
Nika later shared that Nicole had been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, which was described as very aggressive. Despite facing a difficult medical journey and undergoing chemotherapy, the singer remained determined to maintain a positive attitude towards life.
Natalie revealed that Nicole continued to motivate the people around her even during treatment. She encouraged her family and friends to enjoy every moment rather than allowing fear and hopelessness to control their lives. Her determination was reflected in her decision to continue participating in physical activities, including CrossFit, while receiving chemotherapy.
The sisters also paid a heartfelt tribute to Nicole through a memorial page created in her honour. They described her as the oldest of the three sisters, their leader and their closest friend. They expressed deep sadness over her passing while finding comfort in their belief that they would meet her again in Heaven.
Nika and Natalie also confirmed that a private funeral service had already been held to say their final goodbyes to their beloved sister.
Nicole and her sisters developed an interest in music at an early age. The identical triplets began their musical journey by learning to play several instruments, including guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. Their passion for country music eventually brought them together as a professional musical group.
Initially performing under the name Red Roots, the sisters gradually established their identity in the entertainment industry. They gained recognition through their musical performances, comedy videos, online challenges and engaging social media content.
The trio officially began their musical career in 2011 with the release of their debut independent album, Red Roots, on January 24 of that year. Their second studio album, The Middle of Nowhere, followed on March 20, 2012. They later released their third album, Triplicity, on January 7, 2014. In 2015, the group signed with Inpop Records, marking another important step in their musical journey.
One of their notable releases was Country Money, which came out in March 2021. Produced by Ilya Toshinsky, the track was written by J.T. Harding, Matt Jenkins and Andrew DeRoberts. The song gained attention after appearing on Spotify editorial playlists and becoming popular on TikTok.
Taylor Red also expanded its popularity through television commercials, including a national campaign for Sonic Drive-In during 2020 and 2021. The sisters performed more than 1,000 live shows across the United States and internationally, including appearances in Norway and Canada.
Throughout their career, they shared stages with several established artists, including Amy Grant, Charlie Daniels, Diamond Rio, Don Williams, High Valley, Josh Turner and Michael W. Smith.
The trio also built a massive online presence, reportedly attracting more than 13 million followers on TikTok and 16 million subscribers on YouTube. Their success included partnerships with several major brands.
Nicole’s death marks a heartbreaking loss for her family and the music community. However, her sisters’ tribute reflects the lasting impact of her strength, passion for music and determination to live life positively despite difficult circumstances.
