Pakistan and Malaysia discuss gulf situation and bilateral trade

According to an official statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted Anwar Ibrahim and inquired about his health. He also conveyed his best wishes for the Malaysian prime minister’s speedy and complete recovery.

During the conversation, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Malaysia. They agreed on the importance of maintaining the current momentum and further expanding cooperation, particularly in the areas of bilateral trade and investment.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the regional situation, with particular attention given to developments in the Gulf. The discussion comes amid heightened concerns over regional stability and the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts, leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in support of peace initiatives.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked his Malaysian counterpart for Malaysia’s continued support for Pakistan’s efforts aimed at promoting regional peace.

The Pakistani prime minister reiterated that Pakistan would continue working closely with Malaysia and other brotherly and friendly countries to promote peace and stability. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to establish lasting peace, particularly in the Middle East.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They agreed to meet in person at a mutually convenient opportunity in the near future.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also renewed his invitation to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

The conversation reflects the growing focus on diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Malaysia as both countries seek to strengthen economic cooperation while supporting regional peace initiatives.
