Pakistan Champions await PCB NOCs as Legends League nears

The Pakistan Champions squad is still waiting for clearance from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL), with the tournament now just three days away.

According to sources, several former Pakistan cricketers have been making efforts to secure No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players selected in the Pakistan Champions team.

The issue remains unresolved as the PCB has so far not granted permission to the players, leaving their participation in uncertainty ahead of the tournament.

The board’s position is reportedly linked to last year’s controversy involving the competition. During the previous edition, the Indian team refused to play Pakistan Champions in two scheduled matches, a development that reportedly left the PCB unhappy.

Sources said several players have approached the board over the matter, but they have so far received a negative response regarding permission to participate.

However, efforts to change the situation are continuing behind the scenes. A former cricketer associated with the PCB, along with several influential figures, is reportedly working to persuade the board to issue the required NOCs.

The timing has added urgency to the situation, with only three days remaining before the competition begins.

The PCB had taken a firm position after last year’s controversy, making it clear that it would neither allow players to participate in the event nor permit the use of Pakistan’s name in connection with the competition.

Officials have so far maintained that position, according to the available information.

The WCL features former international cricketers competing in a franchise-style tournament, attracting considerable attention among fans of retired stars.

For the Pakistan Champions players, however, the immediate focus is on obtaining the necessary clearance. Unless the PCB changes its stance or grants the required NOCs, their participation remains uncertain just days before the tournament gets underway.
