Pakistan, Kuwait move to strengthen defence partnership

According to officials, a special facility has been introduced on the Punjab Emergency Helpline 15 to provide immediate psychological support.

RAWALPINDI: Kuwait’s Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah, leading a high-level delegation, held talks with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The delegation included Kuwait’s Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Khalid Darj Saad Al-Shriaan. Discussions centred on matters of mutual interest, regional security developments and ways to further expand defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional links and broadening mutually beneficial military collaboration between the two countries. The talks also highlighted the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait and the importance of closer coordination in promoting regional peace and stability.

The Kuwaiti delegation praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly their contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The meeting concluded with both countries expressing their resolve to transform their historic relations into a stronger and more enduring defence partnership, aimed at advancing shared security interests and supporting stability across the region.
