According to the notification issued by the Petroleum Division following approval from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the revised prices took effect at midnight. The report, published on October 14, 2026, stated that the changes were initially announced for the following 24 hours.
Under the revised rates, petrol now costs Rs393.86 per litre while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs396.65 per litre.
The latest adjustment comes a day after the government announced a reduction in petroleum prices. According to the previous notification cited in the report petrol had been reduced by Rs2.71 per litre while diesel had seen a smaller decrease of three paisa per litre.
The latest revision reverses part of the previous reduction in petrol prices while diesel has recorded another slight decrease.
Petroleum prices are closely watched across Pakistan because changes in fuel costs can affect transport fares, freight charges and the prices of goods and services. Diesel is widely used in heavy transport, agricultural machinery and other commercial activities while petrol is a major fuel for private vehicles and motorcycles.
The government’s latest notification provides updated rates for consumers businesses and the transport sector. However the report did not provide further details about the factors behind the adjustment.
Consumers are advised to check official announcements for any subsequent changes to fuel prices
