A high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar reviewed preparations for the 2027 SAARC Games which Pakistan will host.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, it was decided that a SAARC Games Secretariat will be established immediately in Islamabad, while the upgrade of the Pakistan Sports Complex will be accelerated.
The meeting also approved the formation of key subcommittees to oversee financial matters, infrastructure development and sports venues.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the 2027 SAARC Games in line with international standards. It also pledged full support to national sports federations to ensure athletes receive the best possible training, preparation and facilities.
