Scotland Women defeated Pakistan Women by 41 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method in a Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up match played in Derby. Batting first, Scotland Women scored 187 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted overs.
Captain Kathryn Bryce played a brilliant innings of 94 runs off just 43 balls hitting 11 fours and three sixes. Opener Darcey Carter contributed 45 runs. For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal, Tasmia Rubab and Ayesha Zafar took one wicket each.
In reply, Pakistan Women had reached 62 runs for the loss of five wickets in 9 overs when rain interrupted play. The match could not be resumed due to the weather. As a result, Scotland Women were declared winners by 41 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
It is worth noting that Pakistan Women had also suffered an easy defeat against the Sri Lanka Women’s team in an earlier warm-up match. Pakistan Women will play their first match of the tournament against the India women’s national cricket team on Sunday, June 14.
