Islamabad – Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce has stated that the global popularity of Pakistani Basmati rice is increasing and the growing demand for it in European markets is a major success for the country’s export sector.
According to reports, the “Pakistan Rice Festival 2026” was successfully held in the Netherlands attracting more than 100 prominent business leaders, importers and representatives from the food industry across Europe.
In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce said that the popularity and demand for Pakistani Basmati rice continue to rise worldwide particularly in European markets which is a significant achievement for Pakistan’s exports.
Pakistan’s Commerce Minister, Jam Kamal Khan praised the successful organization of the trade festival and said that such international trade events play a crucial role in promoting Pakistani products, accessing new markets and increasing exports.
He emphasized that the government is committed to making it easier for Pakistani agricultural and food products to enter global markets thereby contributing to economic stability and growth.
During the festival, the minister also formally invited European investors and the international business community to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture and food sectors.
He stated that the rising demand for Pakistani Basmati rice in Europe demonstrates that Pakistan’s products meet international quality standards and the government is ready to provide all possible facilities and support to foreign investors.
The event highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen its agricultural exports and expand its presence in international food markets particularly across Europe.
