Pakistani students can apply for tuition-free study in Russia

Pakistani students and young researchers can get an opportunity to study in Russia without paying tuition fees through the International Open Doors Olympiad.

The Russian Embassy said the programme allows talented international students to compete for tuition-free places at Russian universities. The scholarship opportunity is available for students interested in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes.

Young researchers can also apply for postdoctoral opportunities through the programme. Successful candidates can study under the quota offered by the Russian government to foreign students. They may also be eligible for additional grant support.

The Open Doors Olympiad is conducted through online academic competitions. Students can take part in different educational fields, while a separate research category is available for young scientists seeking postdoctoral positions.

The programme has attracted participants from around the world since its launch. More than 618,000 people from over 200 countries have taken part in the competition so far. More than 16,700 participants have been declared winners.

Russia has also become an option for Pakistani students seeking affordable higher education abroad. Its universities offer programmes in areas including medicine, engineering, computer science, natural sciences, business and social sciences.
