Pakistan’s silent epidemic: The rise of drug addiction among youth

There various sort of drugs used all across the world. Yet, Pakistan is no exception. There is a huge number of drug addicts and drug users in Pakistan, which is sad and troubling. This has been going on for decades. Certainly, most of the drugs like opium come from our neighbor, Afghanistan. As a matter of fact, Afghanistan is the country where drugs come from and are exported throughout the world.

There are drugs which are exported to the whole wide world, and most of them come from Afghanistan and end up on the streets of many western cities, and this is a known fact which I read in a book about Afghanistan a couple of months ago. I have studied this and also experienced it myself.

Anyway, coming back to the topic, there are many drug users in Pakistan that while travelling in your car in any major city of Pakistan, such as Lahore or Karachi, it may happen that you find a man injecting heroin into his body by with a syringe.

This has actually become quite common, and I have seen such things happening myself. This is spreading rapidly in Pakistan and has become a very common problem and actually a norm, and it is affecting the youth most of all. This is destroying our coming generations. We need to stop this before it’s too late.

Now, the worst and most commonly used drug is crystal meth. This drug is used by majority drug addicts, and people from all walks of life use it. Its use and availability has become quite common and a norm. According to sources, millions of people struggle with this addiction.

These drugs are being used especially by youngsters like teenagers in our country, and this is destroying the youth. Due to this, our country is heading towards destruction, and we must not allow this to happen.

In addition, partying and drug activities has also become common in major as well as minor cities of Pakistan where use of drugs is easily accessible. I have seen a lot of people who take these drugs such as ice and do so by sniffing it in their nose.

This happens in people’s houses, especially people and children or teenagers who belong to very, very rich families, but many other people consume these drugs and end up dead or in a terrible condition with their lives ruined.

These drugs affect a person both mentally and physically, and it is very difficult to kick the habit. Once people get hooked to it, then there is no way back, and it is very difficult to get off these horribly dangerous drugs. Among which Crystal meth commonly used.

There are parties held in high-rise buildings and people’s houses in major Pakistani cities where the drugs are used, and that too openly. You can imagine people sniffing this drug and using it.

We as a nation, must try to put an end to all this and help people with such addictions or the people who take these drugs. We must discourage the youth from taking this horrible drug and from ruining their lives.

This drug has become quite common in our country and has become a norm, and most of it comes from Afghanistan, as I said before. We should stop the youth of our country from taking these drugs and set up outlines where they can get help and also set up NGOs and rehab centers where the youth of our country can get help and also so that they can kick the habit of taking drugs and are free to be normal people and do normal things. This is a challenge for our country to face.

Crystal meth, commonly known as ice, and the youngsters and teenagers are getting addicted and are already addicted to it. This is a very addictive drug and difficult to leave, and that is why I say that we should do something to help the youth of our country.

This has resulted in the death of people, and people who use it are mostly rich people as well as people from other backgrounds. This is a battle that we must fight if we are to secure the future of our next coming generation and not spoil it nonetheless.

Many people get addicted and go crazy by eventually becoming a burden on their families and on society. The government and individuals must run campaigns against this drug and try to get people to stop using the drug so that our country is saved from this evil problem and so that we can progress and flourish as a nation.

In conclusion, we must help drug addicts to kick the habit and to leave these drugs so that we are free from this evil practice and habit.  We should especially protect the teenagers and young people around the country to get indulged in such activities. This drug is mostly used by students, which is sad and terrible.

We must change as a nation!
