Danish jewellery company Pandora has opened a $150 million manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, marking its first production site outside Thailand.
The new factory is Pandora’s fourth manufacturing facility worldwide. It is expected to increase the company’s overall production capacity by about 50% and employ around 7,000 workers once fully operational.
The facility can produce up to 60 million pieces of jewellery each year. Pandora expects Vietnam to account for about 15% of its global production capacity initially. By 2030, the company expects the figure to rise to around one-third.
Pandora previously manufactured all of its jewellery in Thailand, where it operates three factories. The company sold about 112 million jewellery pieces in 2025.
Chief Executive Berta de Pablos-Barbier said the Vietnam facility was designed as a long-term investment. She said the company wanted to strengthen its manufacturing network and improve the resilience of its global supply chain.
The factory occupies a 7.5-hectare site in Ho Chi Minh City. It is located opposite a manufacturing facility operated by Danish toy company Lego.
The Vietnam plant will supply Pandora’s global operations rather than focus on specific export markets. The company selected Vietnam because of its skilled workforce, established jewellery-making industry, infrastructure and business environment.
The facility will also support Pandora’s plans to expand its platinum-plated jewellery range. The move is intended to reduce the company’s reliance on silver and limit its exposure to fluctuations in silver prices.
Pandora said the factory has received LEED Gold certification and will operate entirely on renewable electricity. Silver and gold used at the facility will be recycled.
The company is also examining additional renewable energy options, including solar power generation and a potential partnership for a solar farm.
Pandora said the investment would help it expand production while diversifying its manufacturing base and strengthening its supply chain for the coming years.
