Partly cloudy, humid conditions to continue in Karachi

Karachi is expected to remain under partly cloudy skies with humid weather over the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said the city may experience occasional strong winds during the day, while light drizzle is also likely in some areas. Although no significant rainfall is expected, intermittent drizzle and cloud cover could provide brief relief from the prevailing warm and humid conditions.

The maximum temperature is forecast to range between 33°C and 35°C, while the minimum temperature recorded on Monday morning was 29°C. However, the high humidity is likely to make the weather feel warmer than the actual temperature, increasing discomfort for residents, especially during the afternoon.

According to the PMD, humidity in the city currently stands at 78%, while sea breezes continue to blow at a speed of around 18 kilometres per hour. These winds are expected to help moderate temperatures to some extent, particularly in coastal areas, despite the persistent humidity.

Weather officials have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and take precautions if they plan to spend extended periods outdoors. Motorists have also been urged to exercise caution in areas where light drizzle could make roads slippery.

The PMD continues to monitor weather conditions and will issue updates if there are any significant changes in the forecast.
