KARACHI: The mega container vessel MSC Erika, one of the world’s largest container ships, arrived at Karachi Port on Monday, marking another significant milestone for Pakistan’s maritime sector.
According to a spokesperson for Karachi Port, the vessel measures 398.5 meters in length and 59 meters in width, making it one of the biggest container ships currently operating on international trade routes.
During its stay at the port, the ship is expected to handle more than 3,000 containers before continuing its voyage.
Port authorities said that once cargo operations are completed, the MSC Erika will depart for China, highlighting Karachi Port’s growing capacity to accommodate ultra-large container vessels and strengthen regional trade connectivity.
