PM Shehbaz discusses Pak-Japan ties with Chaudhary Asif Mahmood

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Chaudhry Asif Mahmood, a member of the Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and the Prime Minister’s Japan Committee, to discuss ways to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Japan.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations, trade, investment and expanding cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries. Adviser to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan was also present during the meeting.

Chaudhry Asif Mahmood briefed the prime minister on the contributions of the Pakistani community living in Japan. He also highlighted efforts to strengthen links between business communities in Pakistan and Japan and discussed opportunities for increasing bilateral trade and investment.

He also apprised Prime Minister Shehbaz of various issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and requested immediate measures to address their concerns.

The prime minister appreciated Mahmood’s efforts to promote Pakistan’s positive image in Japan, support the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and contribute to stronger relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also directed that Chaudhry Asif Mahmood be included in the Board of Governors of Sheikh Zayed Hospital with immediate effect.

During the meeting, Mahmood presented the prime minister with a beautifully crafted gold-plated model of a traditional Japanese cultural house as a gift.

Prime Minister Shehbaz accepted the gift and directed that it be deposited in the Toshakhana in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
