Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has taken a joint decision to eliminate terrorism from the country.
He made the remarks during a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in Quetta. Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The prime minister said recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan had caused the loss of lives of security personnel, police officers, and civilians. He stressed that the country would continue its fight against terrorism with full determination.
Shehbaz Sharif said 54 terrorists were killed during operations launched after the recent attacks in the province. He added that the campaign would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated.
He paid tribute to the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the security of the country.
The prime minister also alleged that foreign elements were supporting terrorist groups by providing financial assistance and weapons. He said such activities were aimed at creating instability and harming Pakistan’s progress.
The meeting was held following several major security incidents in Balochistan, including attacks near Quetta, Ziarat, and Bela. Security officials said dozens of people, including law enforcement personnel and civilians, were killed in these incidents and subsequent operations.
Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation stood with security forces and expressed confidence that continued efforts would bring an end to terrorism.
Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, and senior civil and military officials also attended the meeting.
The prime minister concluded his visit by offering prayers for those who lost their lives in the fight against terrorism and reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring peace in the province.
