Police recover Rs616 million in stolen valuables after busting 1,559 gangs

LAHORE: Lahore Police have dismantled 1,559 criminal gangs and arrested 3,379 suspected members during operations carried out across the provincial capital so far this year, recovering stolen cash and valuables worth more than Rs616 million.

According to an official performance report, the recovered property includes 114 tolas of gold, 42 vehicles, 1,083 motorcycles, 4,006 mobile phones and 46 laptops. After completing legal formalities, the recovered items have been returned to their rightful owners.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the campaign against organized crime is continuing across Lahore, adding that the process of returning recovered property is being conducted in a transparent manner.

He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to bringing criminal networks to justice and ensuring offenders receive punishment under the law. The CCPO also directed senior officers to closely monitor crime-control efforts in their respective areas and ordered the formation of specialized teams to strengthen intelligence-based operations targeting organized gangs, proclaimed offenders and absconding suspects.
