The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has launched construction of a new regional office and facilitation centre in Multan.
PPSC Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz (retd), Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), laid the foundation stone of the project on Wednesday.
Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan, Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem and PPSC Member Dr Irshad Ahmed attended the ceremony. Other relevant officials were also present.
The new facility will be built on nine kanals and one marla of land. The project will have a total covered area of 112,688 square feet.
An additional 40,710 square feet has been reserved for future expansion. This space will allow the facility to meet growing administrative and public service needs.
The project has an approved cost of Rs964.983 million. Construction is expected to take 24 months and is scheduled for completion by March 2028.
The regional office will include offices for the PPSC chairman, members and other officials. It will also have dedicated examination halls and conference facilities.
The centre will provide several modern facilities for candidates and visitors. Two lifts will be installed in the building.
The project also includes a firefighting system, CCTV cameras, networking infrastructure and modern security arrangements.
The construction site was formally handed over on October 3. The contractor has already begun mobilisation work at the site.
The new facility is expected to improve access to PPSC services in Multan and nearby areas. It will also provide a dedicated space for examinations, administrative operations and public facilitation.
