Punjab bureaucracy reshuffle: major transfers ordered across key departments

LAHORE: The Punjab government has initiated another round of administrative reshuffling, transferring and appointing senior officers to important positions in municipal services, urban management, inspection and food administration across the province.

According to a notification issued by the Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) on September 2, 2026, bearing notification No. SI.2-2/2026 (A), the transfers and postings have been made with immediate effect and issued by order of the Governor of Punjab.

Under the latest administrative orders, Mr. Khurram Pervaiz (PAS/BS-18), who was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) as well as Project Director of the Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project (PRSWSSP), has been transferred. He has been directed to report to the S&GAD and await further instructions.

In his place, Capt. (Retd.) Aun Haider Gondal (PAS/BS-19), who was awaiting posting in the S&GAD, has been appointed CEO of PRMSC and Project Director PRSWSSP. His appointment has been made on an acting-charge basis and on deputation.

The government has also changed the leadership of the Lahore Parking Company (LPC). Mr. Naveed-ul-Islam Virk (PMS/BS-18), who was serving as CEO of LPC, has been transferred and posted as Director, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, Central Region, Lahore. His appointment has been made against an existing vacancy under Section 9 of the PCS Act, 1974.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tahir Javaid Cheema (PAS/BS-18), who was serving as an Officer on Special Duty in the S&GAD, has been appointed as the new CEO of the Lahore Parking Company on deputation, replacing Naveed-ul-Islam Virk.

Further changes have been made in Gujranwala’s district administration. Mr. Ansir Saghir (PMS/BS-17), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters), Gujranwala, has been transferred and instructed to report to the S&GAD for further orders.

He has been replaced by Mr. Sheher Yar (PAS/BS-18), who was awaiting posting in the S&GAD. Sheher Yar has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters), Gujranwala, with immediate effect.

In another significant posting, Mr. Farhan Ahmed (PAS/BS-18), who was also awaiting posting in the S&GAD, has had his services placed at the disposal of the Director General, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on deputation. He will subsequently be adjusted as Additional Director General (Operations).
