Punjab ensures smooth arrangements for Hazrat Baha-ud-Din Zakariya (R.A.) Urs

MULTAN: Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has reaffirmed that Punjab is the sacred homeland of venerable Sufis and revered saints (Aulia-e-Karam), emphasizing that providing top-tier facilities to the millions of devotees (Zaireen) visiting these holy shrines remains the paramount priority of the Government of Punjab, highlighting that Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has issued explicit directions to extend maximum facilities, convenience, and hospitality to pilgrims during their visits to shrines across the province. He expressed these views while addressing administrative officials during his official visit to Multan on the auspicious occasion of the annual Urs celebrations of the iconic Sufi saint, Hazrat Baha-ud-Din Zakariya (R.A.), following a comprehensive strategy meeting with Deputy Commissioner Multan, Dr. Muhammad Faisal Saleem, to review the security, administrative, and logistical protocols finalized for the annual event. During the meeting, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta instructed Deputy Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Faisal Saleem to ensure that all necessary public amenities, strict discipline, and seamless operational coordination are maintained throughout the Urs celebrations to prevent any inconvenience or untoward incident.

Briefing Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ehsan Bhutta and Deputy Commissioner Multan Dr. Muhammad Faisal Saleem, Zonal Administrator Auqaf Multan, Gulab irshad, stated that special measures have been undertaken to ensure full hospitality and convenience for visiting devotees, detailing that necessary paint and distemper work at the shrine has been completed, tents and canopies with clean carpeting have been arranged over the shrine, Qawwali hall, milk sabeels, and Langar Khana, chilled drinking water sabeels along with over 70 mist and jumbo fans have been installed, beautiful electric illuminations inside the shrine have been decorated, a 50KV generator has been setup for uninterrupted power supply, 60 permanent and 6 portable washroom units have been made operational, complete stage arrangements for daily Quran Khawani, Zakariya Conference, Mehfil-e-Naat, and Mehfil-e-Sama have been finalized, extensive round-the-clock langar and milk sabeels have been established, medical camps and an information front desk have been setup, and temporary lodging for 18,000 pilgrims across 251 rooms in 14 schools, 3 colleges, and the Haji Camp has been organized in coordination with the district administration. Elaborating further on the extensive arrangements, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta stated that full-fledged medical field hospitals have been established at the venue jointly by the Auqaf and Health departments, with operational emergency stalls and control desks by Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and Traffic Police set up to facilitate the public alongside mobile washroom units.

Reiterating the local administration’s full state of readiness, Deputy Commissioner Multan, Dr. Muhammad Faisal Saleem, assured that foolproof security arrangements have been finalized to protect incoming devotees through round-the-clock control room surveillance, integrated police deployment, CCTV monitoring, and dedicated emergency assistance desks across the venue. As part of his itinerary, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta offered Salam, Hazri, and Fateha Khawani at the sacred shrine of Hazrat Baha-ud-Din Zakariya (R.A.), praying for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country, and conducted a thorough inspection of the shrine complex, designated colleges, schools, Langar Khana, and medical field camps, interacting directly with Zaireen before taking stock of ongoing development projects across Multan and directing concerned officials to execute these public welfare projects with full passion, adhering strictly to high-quality standards and completing them within their designated timeframes. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Multan, Ahmed Zunair Afzal, Assistant Commissioner (City) Uzka Sehar, and other officers were also present on the occasion.
