The directives are aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school staff while minimizing the risk of accidents caused by severe weather conditions.

According to the official instructions, all educational institutions have been directed to immediately conduct detailed safety inspections of their buildings and infrastructure. School administrations must thoroughly examine classrooms, rooftops, boundary walls, staircases, and all entry and exit gates to ensure that they are structurally sound and safe for use during the rainy season. The authorities emphasized that any signs of damage or structural weakness must be addressed without delay.

The Education Authority has also announced that teaching activities will not be permitted in buildings declared unsafe. Such facilities will remain closed until they receive a valid fitness certificate confirming that they meet the required safety standards. This measure has been introduced to prevent any potential loss of life or injuries resulting from building collapses or other structural failures during periods of heavy rainfall.

In addition to structural inspections, schools have been instructed to ensure proper drainage systems are in place to prevent waterlogging on school premises. Administrations have been asked to clean drains and remove any blockages that could cause flooding within school compounds. Effective drainage is considered essential to maintaining a safe environment and reducing the risks associated with stagnant water.

The guidelines further require schools to inspect all electrical wiring, power connections, and electrical equipment. Any faulty wiring, damaged cables, or unsafe electrical installations must be repaired or replaced immediately. The Education Authority stressed that exposed wires or defective electrical systems can pose serious hazards during the monsoon season, particularly when combined with heavy rain and moisture.

School administrations have also been advised to take extra precautions during periods of rain, thunderstorms, or strong winds. Students, teachers, and other staff members should not be allowed to gather unnecessarily in open areas while adverse weather conditions persist. Instead, they should remain indoors in secure locations until weather conditions improve, reducing the risk of injuries caused by falling objects, lightning, or strong winds.

Furthermore, every school has been instructed to keep a fully stocked first aid kit on campus and ensure that emergency medical supplies are readily available whenever needed. Emergency contact numbers, including those of local rescue services, hospitals, police, and relevant education authorities, should be displayed prominently in accessible locations throughout the school premises to facilitate a swift response during emergencies.

The Punjab Education Authority has also directed schools to immediately report any accident, structural damage, or emergency situation to the concerned authorities. Prompt reporting will enable emergency services and government departments to respond quickly and provide the necessary assistance.
