CM Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Punjab Revolution transforms Revenue services

LAHORE: Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Board of Revenue Punjab has witnessed a historic and landmark transformation, setting a new benchmark for good governance, transparency and doorstep service delivery in Pakistan.

In a major IT revolution, the Punjab government has successfully executed one of the most ambitious digitization drives in the history of the province.

Landmark Initiatives Under CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif:

1. Merit-Based Recruitment of 8,500 Youth:* In a revolutionary step to empower youth and digitize the centuries-old revenue system, 8,500 intermediates who studied Computer Science in 12th grade have been recruited on merit. This not only created thousands of respectable jobs but also transferred the traditional _basta_ – the cloth bundle of revenue records – onto the computer, ending the era of manual manipulation and patwari culture.

2. Revenue Court Management System (RCMS):* For the first time in Punjab’s history, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has freed the common man from the compulsion of traveling hundreds of kilometers. With the implementation of the state-of-the-art Revenue Court Management System, citizens from Attock to Rajanpur no longer need to come to Lahore to file their cases.

Now, people can file their cases in the Board of Revenue while sitting in their homes – a true realization of the CM’s vision of “Services at Doorstep”.

Citizens have hailed these revolutionary steps as a landmark achievement that has saved their time, money and energy.

Public Trust in CM’s Leadership:

While a few teething issues related to scanning costs at private shops have been reported by some citizens, the affected people themselves have expressed full confidence in the people-friendly leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to Minute Mirror, an affected woman and several other citizens, while appreciating the Chief Minister’s landmark initiatives, said:

“We are highly appreciative of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s many historic, pro-people initiatives. Her spirit behind all these initiatives is to provide maximum facilities to the general public, save their time and money, and deliver services at their doorstep. We are confident that as soon as this minor scanning cost issue comes to her notice, she will resolve it immediately on priority basis.”

Citizens said it appears that this ground-level issue might have been kept hidden from the Chief Minister by the concerned authorities, otherwise her clear policy is zero burden on the common man.

The people of Punjab have termed CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif as a true reformer who is transforming the old, complex revenue system into a modern, transparent, and citizen-centric system – a dream that no previous government could realize.
