Lahore: On the issue of increasing the number of seats in government medical colleges of Punjab, the Punjab Government had requested for an increase of 475 seats in government medical colleges through its first letter dated August 21, 2025. Later, this matter came under consideration in the PMDC Council meeting and was approved in principle.
MD CAT 2026 is scheduled to be held on August 12, 2026 and the MBBS/BDS admission session 2026-27 is going to start soon. The Punjab Government has also issued details regarding the admission policy and number of seats, therefore, it is requested that this issue of increasing seats in government medical colleges be resolved as soon as possible so that the additional seats can be included in the next admission session. Please resolve this issue on an urgent basis. A letter has also been issued by the Health Department.
