Qalibaf says Iran sees through U.S. strategy

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said Tehran has fully understood what he described as Washington’s military strategy, accusing the United States of using ceasefire rhetoric to strengthen its military presence in the region.

In a statement, Qalibaf claimed that the U.S. often speaks about de-escalation and ceasefires while simultaneously moving additional military equipment and resources into the Middle East. He argued that such actions contradict Washington’s public messaging and reveal its broader strategic intentions.

Qalibaf also criticized U.S. policymakers, saying they underestimate Iran’s ability to assess regional developments. He remarked that American officials assume Iranians have the same limited level of understanding, but insisted that Iran has become highly skilled at recognizing what he called Washington’s “political and military game.”

The Iranian parliament speaker stressed that words alone are no longer enough to build trust. He said Iran will judge U.S. intentions based on concrete actions rather than public statements, adding that only practical measures can prove whether Washington is genuinely committed to reducing tensions.
