RAHIM YAR KHAN : Panic and fear have gripped the area following the incident. A climate of fear prevails among the residents of the street and the neighbourhood, who remain silent spectators.
According to details, the incident occurred at 1:10 AM on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Basti Mian Sahib, Street No. 1, Sadiqabad, District Rahim Yar Khan.
CCTV footage shows more than four miscreants on two motorcycles openly carrying out hooliganism, creating terror and pelting stones at a poor family’s house. The family had reportedly filed a complaint against their illegal activities, after which no action was taken and they became a target of revenge.
The accused can be heard in the footage shouting, “Make a video, call 15,” while hurling abuses and threatening to open fire, showing no fear of law or state authority.
The brazen act has spread fear in the locality, with residents living in an atmosphere of intimidation.
The affected family has appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and CCD Punjab Chief Additional IG Sohail Zafar Chattha for immediate action against the accused and provision of protection.
