Robert Pattinson is “feeling [his] age” while shooting fighting scenes for the The Batman sequel.
The actor first played the Caped Crusader and his alter ego Bruce Wayne in 2022’s The Batman, and he’s currently shooting the follow-up movie, which is expected to be released in 2028. However, he has found it to be a “marathon” because action scenes affect him in a way they never used to.
He told India’s GQ magazine, “I’m in London here till the end of the year doing a Batman sequel. It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.’”
He added, “But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon.”
Robert has become a campaign ambassador for JLC and also wears the brand’s watches as Bruce Wayne, which helps him get into character.
The Harry Potter star mentioned, “I went back to London and ended up walking past the store and looking at all the other watches. Something clicked in my mind. I’m like, ‘They’re just so gorgeous.’”
He continued, “And I ended up wearing one in [the next] Batman as well. This seems like quite a nice partnership to have, and it seems very suited to me as well. I like that style so much and the philosophy of the company.”
“When I was just starting to look them up and trying to decide which model to have for it, I realised that Christian [Bale, previous Batman] had them as well. It is weird—as soon as you put the Reverso on, it definitely has a Bruce Wayne feel,” Pattinson mentioned of his Batman character.
“There’s something that felt so incredibly correct for it, even the strap we chose. It’s the last thing I put on when you put the costume on, and there’s a guy who’s looking after the watch, and it all feels extremely Bruce Wayne-coded,” he stated.
Once he’s finished The Batman 2, the Mickey 17 star is ready for a holiday after a busy year with multiple projects, including The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime, and Dune: Part Three.
He admitted, “Yeah, I’ve never done anything like this before. I’ve literally been going nonstop since after the actors’ and writers’ strikes. I was doing a movie with Adam McKay, which fell apart, and I ended up having a big period where I wasn’t working when I recalibrated what I wanted to do.
“But I think it’s worked out. At the end of this, I’m definitely taking a vacation,” Robert Pattinson exclaimed after having a rather busy year.
