According to a PEOPLE report from Tuesday, June 30, the royal couple will not be present at the wedding, which is widely expected to take place on July 3, 2026. The clarification brings a definitive close to a story that had been generating considerable attention since William himself appeared to tease the possibility in a radio interview last month.
During his appearance on Heart Breakfast in May 2026, William was asked directly whether he had received an invitation. Rather than giving a straight answer, he replied with a knowing smile, saying “No comment,” before adding that he was hoping one might arrive. The response, delivered with his characteristic lightness, immediately set off a fresh wave of speculation about just how close the Prince of Wales might be to the world’s most discussed guest list.
The fuel behind the speculation was not entirely without basis. William and Swift share a genuine and well-documented friendship that stretches back years. The two first crossed paths at a charity gala at Kensington Palace in 2013, where Swift and Jon Bon Jovi invited William to join them on stage for a surprise rendition of Livin’ on a Prayer.
