Federal Minister Shaza Fatima conducted a late-night surprise inspection of several petrol stations in Islamabad to review the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme.

During her visits, the federal minister interacted with citizens and asked about difficulties they were facing while registering for the scheme and receiving the fuel subsidy. She also guided motorists about the correct registration procedure and addressed concerns raised by eligible beneficiaries.

Shaza Fatima clarified that citizens only need to complete the registration process once. She advised registered applicants not to repeat the process unnecessarily.

The minister also directed the relevant administration to ensure that the fuel relief is provided without interruption to all registered citizens who meet the eligibility criteria.

She stressed that eligible people should be able to receive the benefit smoothly and should not face unnecessary delays or difficulties at petrol stations.

During the inspections, Shaza Fatima also reviewed the arrangements at fuel stations and sought information about the implementation of the relief mechanism. She directed officials to maintain close monitoring of petrol pumps to ensure that the scheme is being implemented according to government instructions.

The federal minister ordered strict action and monitoring against individuals or petrol station operators who attempt to delay, avoid or refuse to provide subsidised fuel to eligible citizens.

She further emphasised that the relief programme was designed to provide assistance to the public and that no eligible beneficiary should be deprived of the facility because of administrative negligence or deliberate obstruction.

The surprise inspections are part of the government’s efforts to monitor the implementation of the fuel relief initiative at the grassroots level and ensure that its benefits reach eligible citizens.
