The decision has been issued through a formal government notification. All public and administrative offices in the province will remain closed on these days in observance of Muharram.

Separately, it has been confirmed that the moon for Muharram was not sighted. As a result, the first day of Muharram will be observed on June 17 across the country.

According to the official calendar, Ashura (10th Muharram) will fall on June 26 this year. Religious gatherings and processions will be held nationwide to mark the occasion.

Authorities have already begun preparations for security arrangements during Muharram. Special measures are being taken to maintain law and order.

Police and other law enforcement agencies have been directed to remain on high alert. Security plans have been finalized for processions, majalis, and sensitive locations.

Relevant departments have also been instructed to ensure public safety throughout the holy month. Coordination between civil and security institutions has been strengthened.

Officials say these arrangements aim to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents during Muharram observances.
