The South Africa Under-19 Women’s cricket team has arrived in Karachi for its maiden tour of Pakistan.
The visiting squad which landed after a delayed flight was escorted from Jinnah International Airport to its hotel under strict security and VVIP protocol.
The five-match T20 series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played at the National Bank Stadium from July 14 to 24.
Fiza Fayyaz will captain Pakistan’s U-19 side while Nikki van Zyl will lead the South African team. Both teams will hold evening training sessions from July 11 to 13.
A trophy unveiling ceremony will be held on July 13 with both captains scheduled to address the media ahead of the series.
The match schedule is:
- 1st T20: July 14
- 2nd T20: July 17
- 3rd T20: July 19
- 4th T20: July 22
- 5th T20: July 24
The series serves as preparation for the upcoming ACC Women’s U-19 T20 Asia Cup and the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan’s U-19 squad is led by Fiza Fayyaz and includes Alzohwa Hammad, Aqsa Habib, Arisha Ansari, Bareerah Saif, Hadia Meena, Komal Khan, Mah Noor, Maham Nazakat, Mahnoor Zaib, Maimoona Khalid, Rahma Syed, Royal Farhan, Rozina Akram, Shehr Bano, Zainab Khanam and Zofishan Ayaz.
The team’s support staff includes head coach Mohammad Masroor, team manager Ayesha Ashar and former Pakistan international Javeria Rauf as the fielding coach.
