Qalam Foundation International Chairman Allama Abdul Sattar Asim described the publication as an honour for the organisation, saying the collection reflects the important role of journalism and column writing in shaping public thought, highlighting social problems and raising national awareness.

He said Mian Habib’s columns are distinguished by their accessible yet effective style, balanced approach and close connection with issues affecting ordinary people. According to him, the writings encourage readers to look beyond daily events and reflect on the wider circumstances surrounding them.

Veteran journalist and Daily Pakistan Chief Editor Mujib-ur-Rehman Shami also praised Mian Habib’s journalistic approach, describing him as one of the relatively few Pakistani newspaper writers who rely on argument, balance and moderation while presenting their views.

Referring to the title Speed Breaker, Shami said the name aptly reflects the writer’s tendency to pause, think carefully and proceed with caution rather than rushing into conclusions. He also advised social-media users who have gained prominence through mobile-phone journalism to study Mian Habib’s writings closely, saying such reading could contribute to more thoughtful public discourse.

The book’s cover features artwork by acclaimed cartoonist Javed Iqbal, while the back cover carries an engaging review by veteran columnist Sohail Warraich.
