SUKKUR: Sukkur police have recovered imported fabric worth Rs70 million during an operation following the hijacking of a trailer carrying the consignment, police said.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the trailer loaded with imported fabric was hijacked near Baberlo. The suspects allegedly unloaded the cargo and later abandoned the empty trailer in Shikarpur.
Police launched an investigation and conducted a raid that led to the recovery of the stolen fabric, valued at approximately Rs70 million.
The SSP said the case involved an organised group. Two traders, the trailer driver, and two employees of a private transport company were allegedly involved in the theft and are under investigation. Police said further legal proceedings are underway.
